An Orange Juice Specialty Shop with 20 Flavors Opens in Matsuyama, Ehime
A new specialty shop named "Ehime no Shokutaku 1970" has opened in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, offering a unique concept based on the dining tables of 1970s Ehime. Inside, the shop features 20 taps dispensing a variety of orange juices, all made from 100% Ehime-grown citrus straight juice. Each type of juice is priced differently, ranging from 220 yen to 400 yen (including tax). The shop also provides an eat-in space where customers can enjoy light meals that pair well with orange juice.
Ehime Prefecture is one of Japan's premier citrus-producing areas, always competing for the top spot in annual production volume. It has a long history of cultivating oranges. The region's warm climate and rich natural environment make it ideal for growing a wide variety of citrus fruits. There has long been a local joke in Ehime that "you can get orange juice straight from the taps at home," and this new juice shop has turned that joke into reality! From the well-loved Unshu Mikan to rare varieties like Beni Madonna, visitors can enjoy an array of citrus fruits.
For those involved in the food industry or agriculture, it is highly recommended to visit Ehime Prefecture to experience the variety and quality of Japanese citrus. Please also check out the following article that features citrus from Ehime:
