Now You Can Deliver Luggage from Stations Directly to Your Hotel

SPACER Inc., which operates smart coin locker businesses, has launched a new service called "pikuraku PORTER" in collaboration with JR West.

This service is designed to be straightforward: users can leave their luggage in a locker, and it will be delivered to their hotel by the evening of the same day. This allows tourists to enjoy sightseeing without worrying about their luggage and head straight to their hotel afterward.

Recently, the increase in tourists visiting Japan has led to congestion in public transportation due to luggage. This is especially problematic in situations where local residents and tourists coexist, such as on buses. This service is also expected to help solve problems associated with overtourism.

The service is currently undergoing pilot testing in the following areas in Osaka and Onomichi:

Osaka Area:
Destination Hotels: Approximately 70 accommodations in Osaka City
Locker Locations: Beside the Central Gate of Osaka Station, Midosuji North Exit, Umekita Underground Gate, near the bus stops at Shin-Osaka Station first floor, beside the gates at Universal City Station
Supported Languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean
*For more details about the service, please check the official website.

Onomichi Area:
Destination Hotels: Accommodations in Onomichi City and approximately 60 accommodations on the islands of the Seto Inland Sea
Locker Locations: Outside the gates at Onomichi Station, Onomichi Port near Onomichi Station front port parking, Setoda Port Setoda Port Service
Supported Languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean
*For more details about the service, please check the official website.

The convenience of coin lockers installed at railway stations in Japan is well-known among international tourists. They are popular for their variety in number and size, the ability to use electronic money, and their safety and cleanliness. Combined with Japan's highly organized rail network, they provide a highly convenient infrastructure for tourists.

The pilot testing areas include the Umeda area and the Setouchi area, which are the MICE areas we have introduced, so the enhancement of convenience in these areas could also have a positive impact on MICE.
