The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group announced plans to launch three boutique hotels under the name 'Mandarin Oriental Setouchi' around the Seto Inland Sea from 2027 to 2030. These hotels aim to set a new benchmark in the luxury hospitality market while respecting the traditions and history of the Setouchi region.

'Mandarin Oriental Setouchi Takamatsu' is located adjacent to Takamatsu Station and a 30-minute drive from Takamatsu Airport. This 92-room urban resort hotel is ideally situated for exploring the islands of the Seto Inland Sea and will be equipped with restaurants, bars, spas, and wellness facilities.

'Mandarin Oriental Setouchi Naoshima' will be a modern ryokan-style hotel with 22 rooms, built on the site of the Miyake family's former residence. Naoshima is famous for its contemporary art, including the 'Water Lilies' series at Chichu Art Museum and buildings designed by Tadao Ando.

The third hotel is slated to open with 50 rooms on another island in the Setouchi region. These hotels will offer private yacht cruise services to enjoy the diverse charms and landscapes of Setouchi. They will feature sustainable designs that respect and honor the local nature and culture, with collaborations planned with regional craftsmen and artists.

As event planners and incentive travel organizers, this project offers an enticing blend of luxury and cultural immersion, especially appealing to clients who prioritize art and nature. The unique accommodations that merge local tradition with contemporary luxury will be attractive to MICE event attendees, offering enriching experiences in regional culture and art, thus elevating participant satisfaction. The distinctive activities and experiences each hotel provides are also poised to be memorable for attendees.
