Navitime launches a tourist train priority route feature
NAVITIME Japan, Inc. has started offering a "tourist train priority route" feature in its Japan Travel by NAVITIME app for international visitors and NAVITIME Travel app for domestic travel planning and booking, starting January 26, 2024.
This new feature prioritizes routes using tourist trains across 81 lines nationwide, offering route suggestions that make travel more enjoyable. Unlike conventional efficiency-focused recommendation routes, focusing on tourist trains provides new travel options to enjoy the attractive locations of the region.
Japan's extensive public transportation network and punctuality are now globally renowned, benefiting many visitors to Japan in terms of efficiency and comfort in their travels. Meanwhile, tourist trains should not be overlooked for offering more special experiences. Maintaining accuracy and comfort, many trains operate with special interiors, observation cars, meals comparable to restaurants, and private rooms like hotels, making the travel time enjoyable.
Such trains are also effective during MICE events, offering unique travel experiences and increasing opportunities to deeply experience the region's culture and landscapes. Especially when incorporated into incentive travel or pre- and post-tour programs, they can create unforgettable memories for participants, enhancing the appeal of the event and improving participant satisfaction.
