"Modern Gastronomy Tour" launched by Toyama Prefecture
Maeda Pharmaceutical Industries and Tateyama Town have developed the “Modern Gastronomy Tour” program that aims to immerse participants in the culture, history, and nature of Tateyama Town and facilitate interactions with local businesses. The tour was selected for the Tourism Agency's "Regional Gastronomy Tourism Promotion Project" and a monitor tour was conducted in January 2024. It is envisioned that this program will be marketed as a "Unique Venue" for companies within Toyama Prefecture to host overseas inspections in the future.
Toyama Prefecture, located in the central northern part of Japan, is a region rich in natural beauty. It offers a rare global view where the sea and mountains over 3,000 meters high can be observed simultaneously, along with the scenic beauty of the seasons. Toyama Bay is known for its "Toyama Bay Deep Sea Water," making the area particularly renowned for fresh and delicious seafood. The region is traditionally industrious, and known for manufacturing, with companies holding a 100% global share in their fields and traditional crafts, earning its reputation as a "manufacturing prefecture." The tour capitalizes on Toyama's unique features, offering experiences of traditional techniques and gourmet food.
Beyond this tour, Toyama Prefecture holds many elements that can enrich business trips and incentive travel. Its unique natural environment and excellent seafood help deepen the experience of Japan. While Japan is divided into the Pacific side, which includes many major areas, and the Sea of Japan side, the latter offers a different aspect of Japan. For companies involved in manufacturing, Toyama offers even more meaningful experiences, such as experiencing Japanese craftsmanship through traditional crafts, visiting companies with unique technologies, and potentially finding business partners.
